Open since October 2009, Duchess Bake Shop is located on bustling 124th Street in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We offer the perfect blend of classic French pastries, like macarons, croissants, and éclairs, and Alberta favourites, like brownies and butter tarts.
At Duchess we make all of our products daily in-house from scratch—no mixes, no preservatives, no shortcuts. The entire staff, from chef to server, is dedicated to providing exceptional products and service. We strive to use only the freshest and highest quality ingredients possible, such as the superb Valrhona chocolate from France, Anita’s organic flour, 84% churn butter, and all-natural flavourings and extracts. We are also proud to carry Matchstick Coffee from Vancouver, BC, whose high level of care and attention to the coffee they roast always impresses us. We worked closely with Matchstick to create the Bulldog espresso profile, which we feature in our café. It has a nutty flavour with notes of chocolate that make it a perfect match to enjoy with our pastries.
For the home baker, we offer our Duchess Provisions line of fine baking ingredients, for sale at the Bake Shop, and through our online store. In addition to our Duchess Blend preserves, caramel, loose teas, and hot chocolate, we also carry organic flours from Anita’s Organic Mill, Nielsen Massey Vanilla, Valrhona Baking Chocolate, 84% butter, and a hard to find extracts and compounds, for all your baking needs.
